WCI Buys Back Artesia Community in Naples
WCI bought back 261-acre Artesia Naples, a gated master planned community of single-family homes, villas and condos that it sold two years ago to a Florida land investment group. Collier County Clerk records reveal WCI paid more than $13 million for the property in May. Artesia Naples, located between Naples and Marco Island, is on Collier Boulevard south of US 41 in Naples. WCI was Artesia’s original developer and sold the partially developed community to Avanti Properties Group for $5 million about 2 years ago.
WCI plans to open a sales center this summer in Artesia and start selling homes in the mid $100,000s. A possible 600 homes may be built. A great location, Artesia is close to downtown Naples, Marco Island and Rookery Bay offering a resort-like lifestyle with a wide range of amenities; it is also close to a host of recreational options. WCI will add amenities within the gates of Artesia for social and recreational activities close to home.
Starting with a 3-acre Clubhouse, Artesia will feature a resort-style pool, 4 Har-Tru tennis courts, event lawn and dog park. The Clubhouse will be the primary gathering place for recreational and social activities for its residents. The Clubhouse will include a separate lap pool, casual dining pavilion, a fitness center with an aerobics room, a billiards room, theater, café, craft and card rooms, jogging paths, bike trails and golf memberships at Hammock Bay. European-style condos, cottages, townhouses and single-family homes will predominate Artesia Naples. The design will be a throwback to the mansion-style estates of the late 19th and early 20th century, surrounding Artesia’s freshwater lake. Each mansion will be made up of 3 individual residences ranging from 1,060-1,533 square feet. Townhomes will include 1 and 2-story options with a maintenance-free lifestyle ranging from 1,180-1,860 square feet. The American Bungalow offers homes from 1,555-1,973 square feet. Villas will blend Spanish and Italian architectural styles from 2,091-2,400 square feet.
