Ultra-exclusive Port Royal is known for its pricey real estate, but one particular home just hit a new record for Southwest Florida this year. The waterfront home, which has even made it on the cover of a magazine, sold in mid-June for nearly $20 million.
It doesn’t hurt that Port Royal is known itself as being one of the priciest neighborhoods in the nation. Made up of nearly 600 luxury properties, nearly all of the homes in Port Royal feature deep-water Gulf access.
Like some of its neighboring properties, a deep-water dock is one of the main features of the recently sold waterfront home, but clearly not the only thing that attracted buyers. Other luxury additions include the home’s waterfront swimming pool, a firepit, an outdoor kitchen and a private beach.
The large home sits on nearly 1.5-acres in one of the city’s most privileged communities. The more than 10,000 square foot home also includes five-bedrooms, nine-baths and a four-car garage.
It additionally features such high-end additions as Bamboo veined limestone and Italian white-oak flooring. Of course, as impressive as the home is on the inside it is on the outside, with endless opportunities for indoor/outdoor living made possible by the walls of sliding glass doors that open up the home.
Completed in 2017, the high-priced, custom-built home has been on the market since early last year. It was originally listed at more than $25 million. Along with its desirable water frontage, the contemporary home is noted for its minimalist design features.
Residents of Port Royal have the option of membership at nearby Port Royal Club. The private beachfront club provides a world-class tennis program, a health club and beachfront dining possibilities.
The club additionally offers a beach-side swimming pool, spa treatments, and a full calendar of planned social events and entertainment possibilities including holiday festivities, dinner shows and dances.
