Naples Named Top Beach Town

Renowned for its incredible properties and picture-perfect scenery, Naples now also holds the distinction of being named one of the nation’s top beach towns. Travel and Leisure recently declared the city a winner, voted on by readers as one of their favorite beach towns all across the country.
Readers cast a ballot based on things like food plus friendliness of locals. While many awards are delivered based on what travelers think about their own experiences, this particular ranking gives locals a chance to tell the world what makes their home so great.
With that in mind, Naples comes in at number three on the list, favored for its small-town feel and relaxing vibe. Travel and Leisure readers credit Old Naples for showcasing fashionable boutiques and enchanting restaurants, plus they give high marks for the waterfront access of the Gulf of Mexico and Naples Bay.
The publication remarks that Naples Pier is a fantastic location to watch a sunset while the miles upon miles of white sand beaches are highlighted by fantastic single-family homes and properties. Naples was the highest-ranking Florida town or city on the list for 2016, topped only by Provincetown, Massachusetts and Hilton Head, South Carolina.
Naples includes a variety of beaches, ranging from Lowdermilk Beach Park with its sand volleyball courts and pristine surroundings, to Vanderbilt Beach in North Naples, close to various shops, restaurants, hotels and more. Other options include Delnor-Wiggins Pass State Park for fishing, boating and swimming, plus Clam Pass Park with its fishing ramps and rentals.
Lining the Gulf of Mexico, Naples beaches offer up pure white sand and turquoise water, ideal for a true taste of a Southwest Florida lifestyle. Meanwhile, the area also maintains a rich selection of shops, restaurants and entertainment, highlighting a top beach location unique to the region and favored by residents and travelers alike.
