Mediterra Tennis Raises the Bar
While many Southwest Florida communities offer up tennis, the tennis available within Mediterra truly raises the bar. The community’s award-winning tennis program is known as one of the best in the nation, complete with a total of eight Har-Tru tennis courts.
Included in that is a coliseum court and a stadium court, overseen by a USTA Certified Tennis Professional. The program also boasts more than a dozen league teams, perfect for those of all abilities, plus tennis-themed activities ranging from cardio tennis and clinics to round robins.
The club additionally offers traveling teams and an annual Club Championship, plus tennis lessons, again for those of all abilities. A few years back Venus Williams even hosted a tennis clinic at the Mediterra facility.
All of this has certainly paid off, as the USTA honored The Sports Club at Mediterra for excellence in its facility in recent years. Improvements over the past few years have translated to the addition of grass-tiered stadium seating, new lighting, new landscaping and detailing, plus a rounded court.
That’s just one of the awards Mediterra has picked up over the years. The tennis program has also been recognized by Tennis Industry magazine and by the United States Tennis Court & Track Builders Association.
That’s on top of other awards for the site’s golf facilities. In past years, Golf Digest magazine helped honor Mediterra with the Environmental Leaders in Golf Award, plus its been named one of America’s top 100 golf communities by Travel + Leisure Golf for several years running.
Along with tennis and golf, Mediterra is also home to several picklball courts and a dedicated pickleball program. As well, the site also boasts a fitness center, several bocce ball courts and an outdoor swimming pool. Meanwhile, the Mediterra Beach Club offers up easy access to the sand and water, plus on-site dining.
