The premiere community of Mediterra just gained additional honors, once again being named Community of the Year at the Sand Dollar Awards gala. The designation, by the Collier Building Industry Association, recognizes superiority in such things as development, building, interior design and marketing.

This marks the 10th time that Mediterra’s received the designation, as determined for communities made up of homes priced at more than $1 million. In addition, Mediterra gained five top awards for a couple of single-family model homes within the community, including for interior design, product design and pool design.

It’s not the first time the community has been honored, also recently coming in at tops for Best Community Site Plan, as designated by the Grand Aurora Award from the Florida Home Builders Association and Southeast Building Conference. Not to be overlooked, BoardRoom magazine considers Mediterra one of the world’s top private clubs and Best Retirement Destinations ranks the community as number 10 on the list of the world’s top retirement communities, noted for its recreational activities, visual appeal and broad residential options.

Mediterra is home to 36-holes of golf, a private Beach Club with swimming pool and dining, plus miles of jogging and walking trails, a spa, bocce ball courts and tennis courts. The clubhouse additionally features more dining options including being designated as the first private country club of its kind to have a two-star Certified Green Restaurant within the property.

In addition, the Golf Learning Center provides a short game practice complex, on-staff PGA professionals and outdoor and indoor hitting stations. As well, the 1,700-acre community also offers surrounding parks and nature preserves for the enjoyment of residents.
