Luxury Condos Coming to Naples Beach Hotel Site
New luxury condos are headed to the current site of the historic Naples Beach Hotel and Golf Club in the Coquina Sands neighborhood. About a year ago, the Naples City Council approved plans to replace the historic Naples Beach Hotel with an entirely new project.
The landmark hotel is scheduled to shut down for good this coming May, and eventually be replaced by a new complex including luxury condos. The new project has quite a legacy to follow.
The long-standing Naples Beach Hotel & Golf Club has been owned by the same family for more than 70 years. Many area residents, and visitors alike, share fond memories of visiting the site over the years and decades.
Plans call for the existing property to soon make way for a new and more modern inn, as well as more than 180 new residential units, lining both sides of Gulf Shore Boulevard. While the golf course will stay, crews do plan to redesign it.
The Athens Group has been working on a deal with the current owners for years. The Arizona-based developers have decades of experience of their own bringing luxury resorts, communities, golf courses and more to the market.
Athens Group uses sustainable design and building practices in its projects and has won several awards over the years, including its efforts regarding environmental responsibility. Its completed projects stretch across the country, from Hawaii and California to Colorado, Utah and South Carolina.
Its latest plan, of course, is to redevelop the site of the old Naples Beach Hotel & Golf Club. It’s, no doubt, a project that longtime residents of the Naples area will be watching closely.
As of right now, it’s expected crews will need about four months to demolish the existing property, which won’t even begin until next summer. The first phase of the new property, including three condo buildings, could open sometime in late 2023.
