Kensington Expanding Clubhouse
A newly refurbished, expanded clubhouse is coming to Kensington Golf & Country Club, where crews are pushing ahead with a $3.5 million project. The massive expansive and renovation project includes adding in some new amenities, along with refurbishing existing ones at the site.
Scheduled to be complete sometime early next year, the project includes adding in new outdoor dining to the clubhouse, complete with a full kitchen and bar, plus a fire pit. The new, more casual dining option joins the resurfacing of the club’s existing Har-Tru tennis courts, plus the addition of new pickleball courts.
As well, the much larger plan also calls for adding in two new bocce ball courts to the property. While the updates are completed, the rest of the club remains open. The aim is to give members more social and recreational options on site than ever before, giving them multiple new reasons to stay at Kensington rather than traveling to other locations in the Naples area.
Kensington is already home to a championship golf course, a heated swimming pool and a fitness center. As well, the club additionally already features an upscale dining room, plus more casual dining options and an active social calendar that runs year-round.
Other options for members include the many clubs and groups, including cooking classes and other social activities. The clubhouse can additionally handle private gatherings, meetings and events.
Kensington’s expansion and refurbishment plans are aimed at coinciding with the 25th anniversary of the club. The established club first opened in North Naples in the mid 1990s. It offers the option of residential and non-residential memberships for golf, social or sports.
