A new mixed-use development is on track to become one of Southwest Florida’s newest destinations. Founders Square is a 55-acre development at the corner of Collier Boulevard and Immokalee Road in North Naples.

Anchored by a collection of restaurants and retailers called The Pointe, Founders Square is set to welcome in around 10 locally and nationally known restaurants. All of the dining establishments will be stand-alone restaurants, with many of them focusing on outdoor dining.

Founders Square will also serve as home to hundreds of apartments, a large medical office building and a self-storage facility. The idea is to bring together a collection of luxury residences, dining options, shopping, medical services and more in one location.

The project’s retail space includes several grocery stores, a high-end spa and a number of restaurants. Originally, developers had hoped to construct a shopping center anchored by a home improvement store and a grocery store.

That project changed to a mixed-use development in more recent years. When finished, residents and visitors will be able to access the Founders Square development from both Collier Boulevard and Immokalee Road.

It’s hoped people will be attracted to Founders Square, in part, as a meeting place in what’s considered a fast-growing trade area. Developers see the location as a major part of its appeal.

The intersection has seen a lot of growth just over the past few years. The property’s medical office building will sit just adjacent to The Pointe.

The self-storage facility, meanwhile, will be a three-story building with drive-up units built by Davis Group. The separate company of Davis Development is constructing the three- and four-story apartments of Founders Square.

There are also reportedly a few parcels available for purchase or lease fronting the interior of the property and Immokalee Road. Founders Square could be completed as early as next summer.
