Experience Old Florida Charm at Wilderness Country Club

Full of Old Florida charm, Wilderness Country Club is the kind of place that’s close to the beach and to Old Naples, with a mix of the appeal of yesteryear, and more modern, upscale inclusions. This relaxed, Naples club was first established in the mid 1970s, and is known as the first golf course in Naples with a mandatory membership.

Wilderness was designed to take advantage of its natural environment from the very beginning, with views from the condos of the golf course fairways, area lakes, trees, and plants. Dozens of species of birds and wildlife are said to have lived in Wilderness Country Club over the years, as the club stretches for 200-acres, and is a certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary.

A butterfly garden exists on the property, plus you’ll also find mature trees and greenery. At five-acres, Frank Park within Wilderness Country Club includes trees and shrubs from around the world.

The club even grows and maintains some seasonal garden herbs, which are used to make meals in the clubhouse. Made up of just 300 low-profile condos, the private residences of Wilderness surround the golf course.

The Arthur Hills-designed course was refurbished in the early 2000s, while the property is also home to a clubhouse with informal and formal dining options, as well as organized games and activities. The club additionally includes a Golf Shop with private lessons and clinics, a practice area with a driving range, a putting green, and a short-game area.

As well, you’ll find a tennis program, and five swimming pools. You’ll also find some bocce ball courts, a regulation-size croquet court, and a dedicated dog park, too.

As for the condos of Wilderness, they commonly include anywhere from 1,700 square feet of living space to more than 3,000 square feet of living space. Each condo not only overlooks the golf course but also includes its own golf cart garage. Found close to Golden Gate Parkway and Goodlette-Frank Road in Naples, Wilderness is just minutes away from Gulf beaches and popular Fifth Avenue South.
