Clubhouse Improvements Coming to The Colony

A refreshing new look is coming to The Colony Golf & Country Club starting this fall. The community’s clubhouse is being updated with an array of complimentary designs and features, fashioned to not only improve functionality within the 28,000-square-foot building, but also the beauty of the overall structure.
With updates led by Clive Daniel Hospitality of Naples, improvements to the clubhouse will include adding lighter colors to the building’s interior, complimented by warm wood finishes. The team also plans to bring in new lighting fixtures, draperies, furniture and artwork to balance out the overall new design of the club.
Late this summer WCI Communities also plans to make updates to lounges of The Sports Club, home to the development’s swimming pool and spa, fitness rooms, Har-Tru tennis courts and tennis shop.
Additionally, a new juice bar, more seating and a new awning will be added. It’s expected that the updates will be completed in early September. Until then, members may see access to certain parts of the clubhouse restricted as crews make the necessary updates.
The new design of the clubhouse coincides with renovations being made to the development’s golf course. Eighteen rebuilt greens of the Jerry Pate-designed course are being outfitted with platinum paspalum grass. Work is also underway on a handful of putting and chipping greens. As well, the overall project for the golf course includes restoring the size and scope of bunkers and re-grassing surrounds.
One of the premiere residential developments of Bonita Springs, residents of The Colony enjoy an array of sensational amenities, from the 18-hole championship golf course to tennis, golf and even a Beach Park, providing nearly a mile of white sand along the Gulf at the tip of Big Hickory Island. The ideal location of the development also gives residents a number of impressive options in nearby Southwest Florida attractions.
