Cambier Park: Where Naples Goes To Play
Some residents say Cambier Park is the heart of Naples. Adjacent to the community center, Cambier Park has been a welcome fixture in the Naples community.
Encompassing more than 12 acres, Cambier Park was named after William Cambier, a town engineer who developed Naples in 1926. A charming park, located in downtown Old Naples, it is very close to the upscale 5th Avenue South boutiques and restaurants. A well-known source of pride around town, Cambier Park is also home to the National Champions Greater Naples Girls Little League. Cambier Park has many first-rate amenities, like the Norris Community Center, 5 lighted shuffleboard courts, 2 bocce courts, Arthur Allen Tennis Center with 12 lighted clay courts, band shell, football field, covered pavilion, and open green space for a picnic as well as a $250,000 newly renovated children’s park for kids of all ages.
Cambier Park hosts monthly Naples Fine Art and Craft Shows from October-April; a Jazz Concert Series on Sunday afternoons with the award-winning Naples Jazz Orchestra; and Naples Philharmonic Orchestra concerts. Many free concerts are showcased at the band shell throughout the year featuring a renovated stage and sound system. Cambier Park prides itself on being the hub of the Naples community.
With an amphitheater, the Norris Community Center is also part of the park with its own auditorium, dance studio and an art gallery, as well as a calendar full of classes and sports lessons. The award-winning public tennis center, the Arthur Allen Tennis Center, is professionally staffed and offers quality programs and facilities for all levels of players and all ages with ample lessons, clinics, round robins, leagues, tennis shop and social events.
