Barely two months after its unveiling, members are still relishing in the outcome of the newly redesigned Bay Colony Golf Club in Naples. The club officially reopened late last year, following the completion of millions of dollars in upgrades to the site.
The new upgrades include the addition of dual bocce ball courts, a new wine room and a new boardroom. In addition, the redesigned club now offers an expanded Grille Room, a new outdoor bar and kitchen and features new updates to its ladies lounge.
The entire, multi-million dollar renovation project began about a year ago when a design and architecture team first began making upgrades to the 32,000+ square foot clubhouse. The newly refurbished clubhouse additionally offers its members use of a formal dining room, a men’s grille and a gentlemen’s lounge.
The golf course itself originally opened in the 1990s, followed up by the Bay Colony Golf Clubhouse shortly later. Over the years the golf club has undergone other renovations, in addition to those just completed at the club.
In the late 2000s the club added a wraparound terrace and a patio with views of the 18th green. In addition, crews added in a private dining room, a culinary kitchen, plus redesigned the ladies locker room at the clubhouse.
Then, just a few years ago, the site’s championship golf course underwent its own restoration project. This resulted in new landscaping plus the restoration of all bunkers, an upgrade to the turf, enlargement of tee boxes and the removal of some cart paths, altogether aimed at reclaiming the original design principles of the course.
The location of Bay Colony Golf Club has played host to several major championships and qualifiers through the years. In addition, the club routinely hosts golf events for its own members, including a Club Championship. This is truly a fantastic community and its residents are mighty proud to call Bay Colony their home.
