The most expensive condo to sell in Naples, Florida during January 2013 was in Park Shore at the Regent located at 4101 Gulf Shore Boulevard #11N, Naples, FL.  This 4 BR +den / 6 BA / 7,481 SF condo includes two parking spaces.  The selling price was $5.3M / $708 SF, which was 91% of the asking price.

Naples has seen a surge in new construction activity with a whopping 67.1% increase in housing starts in 4Q12 vs. 4Q11.  Housing data research firm Metrostudy reports that Collier County housing starts rose from 170 in 4Q11 to 284 in 4Q12.

Much of the current new construction activity in the Naples market is being done by national builders.  These large, mostly public companies are investing heavily in the Naples market.  They are making this bet as Naples is favorite destination for the growing numbers of baby-boomers approaching retirement.  Why gamble on the weather in more northern Florida cities, when you can enjoy year-round tropical weather in Naples.
