North Naples East Attractions
This family friendly area of Naples features the easily accessible shopping Naples residents have come to expect as well as a variety of parks and nature preserves.
Logan Landings
Anchored by the Sprouts Farmers Market on the corner of Logan Boulevard and Immokalee Road, Logan Landings is a large retail center home to a number of popular retailers and restaurants, including Off the Bone BBQ, the Thai Udon Cafe, Pet Supermarket and AT&T. Known for its natural and organic products, Sprouts has attracted other retailers focused on health and beauty, including the Naples Modern Dentistry, a yoga studio, and nail bar. Oak and Stone is one of the larger tenants with a 5,300 sf pizza bar where guests can watch their pizza being made as well as enjoy indoor and outdoor seating on a spacious patio. Brooks Burgers & Tavern operates a gourmet ice cream in addition to its feted Brooks Burgers. Other retailers specialize in women’s clothing and accessories and key services.
Bird Rookery Swamp
Ideal for birders and nature enthusiasts, the Bird Rookery Swamp offers 12 miles of hiking and biking trails, including a 1500 foot boardwalk with wheelchair accessibility. Songbirds frequent the cypress trees lining the boardwalk and it’s not uncommon to see a barred owl and swallow-tailed kite in the summer. Originally used as tram roads when the area was cleared and logged many years ago, the trails are now a mix of sand and grass and wind through the home of alligators, panthers, bobcats, and white-tailed deer. While biking is challenging on the sandy roads, the views are spectacular and the area is typically not crowded and remains untouched from its early origins.
Alligator Flag Preserve
Alligator Flag Preserve is a small nature preserve that offers visitors immersion into the natural habitat of many of Southwest Florida’s traditional wildlife creatures, including migratory bird species, black bear, deer, raccoon and of course, snakes. The 1-mile trail is accessible only during dry season as it retains standing water. The trail is an undiscovered jewel looping through a variety of habitats with a bench strategically located to provide a comfortable spot to rest. Because there is no vehicle parking, the trail is accessible only by foot and bike from the Greenway bike and foot path located along the north side of Immokalee Road.
Vineyards Community Park
Tucked away between Vanderbilt Beach Road and Pine Ridge Road, the Vineyards Community Park attracts young families and seniors alike with its interactive water play area and shaded walking trails. Summer Camps and after-school leagues make good use of the park’s multitude of soccer and softball fields. Lighted tennis, basketball, racquetball courts and an illuminated playground provide recreation opportunities for all ages. With 8 picnic shelters and a pavilion, the park is a favorite for family gatherings and special events. A community center on the grounds provides additional educational and fitness opportunities with classes, equipment rental and a well stocked games room.
Max A. Hasse Jr. Community Park
Named in honor of a local philanthropist whose passion for parks helped in building a comprehensive parks system in Collier County, this park is especially popular with residents because of its central location. Close to the Golden Gate Estates and the more rural North Naples areas, the park features lighted softball, football, and soccer fields as well as tennis courts and a covered basketball pavilion. A picnic shelter provides a respite after a visit to the park’s enchanting butterfly garden designed by local boy scouts. Stone pathways guide visitors along the lush greenery where the colors of the butterflies stand out in even sharper contrast. An onsite fitness facility in the community center features weights and an assortment of cardio and strength equipment as well as a personal trainer to provide guidance on a specific regimen.
