A new report once again ranks Collier County residents among the healthiest in the entire State of Florida. According to the 2017 County Health Rankings, residents of Collier County come in second place overall, right behind St Johns County when compared to all 67 counties across the state.

The study, presented by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and the University of Wisconsin Population Health Institute, gives Collier County the number two spot for health outcomes. This includes a number one ranking for length of life and a spot in the top 10 for quality of life.

As residential developers eye new options for Southwest Florida, some reports suggest they are rethinking the need for more golf communities. It’s a trend that’s been witnessed in recent years, as some developers have changed their plans, ditching the golf courses and instead filling the acreage with more homes.

The report takes a look at the well-being and health trends of people living in cities all across the nation, giving the Naples metropolitan area the highest well-being score of any of the 189 communities in the survey. In fact, the Naples/Immokalee/Marco Island area has been one of the top 10 communities on the list for the past several years.
